Brewers Rest

Brewers Rest is a beautiful two bedroom holiday cottage in the heart of Ventnor on the Isle Of Wight. Just minutes from the local beach and amenities the house is an ideal base from which to explore the whole island.

The house is a classic two up two down Victorian cottage built in the 1860s and sits in a charming terrace set back from the road which ensures peace and quiet.

The house was fully renovated in 2016 and is a now a well equipped home ideal for the family holiday.

The house can accommodate a family of four (plus a tiny guest in a travel cot). Well behaved pets are welcome.

The main bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and a travel cot (please bring your own bedding for this). The rear bedroom has full size single bunk beds suitable for either adults or children.

The house is suitable for both family holidays and short breaks as well as business travel.

The main family bathroom is on the ground floor. The bath is full size with a fantastic thermostatic overhead shower which has a second diverter head also. A second toilet is on the first floor adjacent to the bedrooms.

There is WiFi for your use and a house tablet pre-loaded with apps and information to help you enjoy your stay. The TV is fitted with Chromecast enabling you to use your favourite streaming service.

Ventnor beach is five minutes walk from the house. The town centre shops are about three minutes walk and the nearest car park is just two minutes from the front door (see below for more details about parking).

You will have access to the whole house which really is a home from home.

Our housekeepers will ensure the house is clean before you arrive and will make the beds and lay out towels for you. We have friends nearby that will assist with any minor issues during your stay.

The house is available throughout the year. Stays are from a minimum of two nights for most of the year but at certain times other minimum night stays will apply. Bookings during the summer period are for a minimum of seven nights and will start on a Saturday. Please ask if you have specific date requirements as they can often be accommodated.

Parking

There is very limited free parking in the town and indeed across much of the island. The nearest car park is two minutes walk from the front door in Pound Lane. There is a free car park five minutes walk away in Wheelers Bay. Parking charges can be found here.. Whole island tourist permits can be bought which allow parking across all island car parks and controlled street parking. These can be bought through the Pay By Phone app and start with two days parking through to 14 days parking.

Getting around

The house is located in the heart of Ventnor but set back from the road in a secluded terrace so lovely and quiet. The town is well served by all the bus services that link the whole island.

Accessibility

Ventnor is hilly, very hilly in places and this is not always suitable for people with limited mobility. The house is access up a fairly steep alleyway with a step. It is a charming old cottage in a lovely and quiet set back location but unfortunately we do not consider the access or the house suitable for wheelchair users.

The house is set on two levels with the bedrooms on the first floor. There are steps into and throughout the house. We do not consider it suitable for those with limited mobility or wheelchair users.
